ASHLEY'S

       STORY

Ashley Stroehlein moved to North Carolina from outside of Bristol, Va. She began a teaching career at Statesville High School where she taught math while coaching basketball and track. It wasn't long before she made the tough decision to leave teaching to follow her childhood dream of sports reporting. At an early age, Ashley showed her passion by recording herself on a tape recorder announcing shows like the "American Gladiators".

Ashley decided to go back to school to master the art of engaging sports viewers through storytelling and captivating sound. She began her career at WBTV as an intern, where she quickly got hired as a part-time editor while still working her full-time job as a teacher. Ashley's desire and hard work paid off leading to a part-time sports reporting position to full-time sports reporting and anchoring all within a year and a half. In the fall of 2019, Ashley made the move to NBC Charlotte, joining their sports team and NFL Network as a sideline reporter for C-USA. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her mom and working with charity foundations around Charlotte.

Grateful for amazing opportunities, Ashley looks to continue to learn and grow professionally into the best sports journalist she can be. Dreams do come true.
